Solar and Planning Permits
In some circumstances Solar Panels do not require development consent. If you are in a heritage area and you would like to install a solar system on your property please send an email to Council, firstname.lastname@example.org, attention it ‘Council’s Heritage Planner’. Include in the e-mail your address and details outlining where you wish the panels to be installed and include pictures of your property. Council’s Heritage Planner will respond to your e-mail request.
One more thing to be aware of, is that strata bodies have requirements relating to solar panel installations. So make sure to consult with the body corporate of your strata before installing solar panels.
